World Tree Kangaroo Day – Tree Kangaroos inhabit the tropical rainforests of New Guinea and far northeastern Queensland in Autralia.
Goodfellow’s Tree-Kangaroo
- (Dendrolagus goodfellowi)
- also called the Ornate Tree-Kangaroo.
- is native to the rainforests of New Guinea, and the border of central Irian Jaya in Indonesia.
- Unlike their land dwelling cousins, Tree Kangaro’s legs are not disproportionately large in comparison to the forelimbs.
- Limbs are strong with hooked claws for grasping tree limbs.
- The Tree Kangaroo’s long bushy tail helps it balance on tree limbs.
- Tree Kangaroos are usually silent and solitary creatures.
